The Journey Is Worth It

Loneliness ends when you find your gift.

I know that sounds too simple for something that hurts as much as loneliness does. But I've lived it, and I believe it with everything in me. Scripture says that where there is no vision, the people perish — and I think that's true of our hearts, too. Without something to move toward, something we were made for, a part of us slowly withers.

Here's something I had to learn the hard way. The people we love — a husband, our children, our closest friends — are gifts. They mold us and shape us. They walk with us and carry us through seasons we couldn't survive alone. But as much as I love them, I've come to understand a hard and freeing truth: they are not my purpose.

Relationships are always changing. People grow, seasons shift, we mature, and the roles we play in each other's lives move and change with time. If we build our entire sense of meaning on another person, we will always feel the ground moving beneath us. But real, lasting happiness and fulfillment — the kind that steadies you — lives somewhere deeper. It lives in your gift.

And that's exactly what it is. A gift.

When you finally stop waiting and start pursuing the thing you were created to do, it opens up a whole new world. A world of empowerment, of purpose, of coming alive. Because we were created for so much more than simply getting through our days. Yes, we grow through our relationships — they're often the very place we discover ourselves — but it's in our gift that we finally become who we were born to be.

I know this now because I've felt it. I have never had anything flow through me as easily as this calling of empowering women through loss. The words come to me day and night — in the car, in the quiet, in the middle of the night. When something pours out of you like that, without striving, you begin to realize: this is the thing. This is what God created you to do.

And here is the truth I hold onto, on the hard days and the quiet ones:

If I help even one woman find hope in her darkest hour, this whole journey will have been worth it.

Every loss. Every lonely night. Every tear. If it becomes the very thing that reaches one hurting woman and reminds her she's not alone — then none of it was wasted. All of it was worth it.

And your gift is waiting for you, too. On the other side of your pain, there is something only you can give. The journey to find it is long, and it is hard. But I promise you, with all my heart:

It is worth it. 🤍

Come as you are. There's a place for you here.
